Away

March 31, 2009

It was so lovely to go to Sydney recently. Caught up with some family there and just had a great time. The flight back was rather exciting… the worst turbulence I have ever experienced. It only lasted a few minutes but it really felt like being inside a toy plane being held by a giant child! The pilot did warn us, so we had time to hang on. Just wanted to share a couple of shots of my big brother, near his home in the city. Who’d have thought graffiti could ever be useful? 20090329_0017_edit_web20090329_0005_edit_web

Flowers

March 23, 2009

I’m so happy to have caught up with a friend today. She is another mum with a little girl the same age as mine (which makes her amazing to start with), but she also has 5 month old twin boys! She handles the chaos so calmly and it was such a delight to give her a bit of a hand with holding bubs and feeding etc. If I ever feel like I have alot on my plate I will phone you Sarah, so you can laugh. I know you would be too polite for that though! I think she would agree that she is truly blessed to have three little preciouses though. Despite the the back breaking work etc!

Here is my little precious yesterday. We went for a walk around the neighbourhood and saw some very pretty weeds in a vacant block. I didn’t tell her they were weeds, but flowers. Sometimes what we call things just makes all the difference to how we approach them.

Weekend again!

March 22, 2009

I’m just looking at my last blog post and I realised I was still blogging about last weekend. I now have some new photos to share. In case you think the location looks familiar from some of my other photos, I am making no apologies! We were lucky enough to have a family get together with some cousins and their families, including a picnic tea which ended with a large number of bats descending upon the park. Fair enough. It was dark. They can have it then. Anyway, we had a fabulous time and I was fortunate enough to be able to share some fun on the beach with Steve and Wendy and their children. The girls were a delight to photograph, actually everyone was!! I hope your foot is feeling better Miss B (she got a splinter). Here is a sneak peek of what we got up to.

Weekend Part 2

March 19, 2009

What a funny day it has been. Miss Princess got to go to “noonie” (university) with daddy this morning and I was able to have some “mummy” time at home. It was most enjoyable. I even did my nails. Apparently the outing was enjoyed by one and all as there were two happy people who came home at lunch time.

As alluded to in my previous post, here is a lovely friend of mine and her little boy at the beach. I love photographing small children. I think it is because it is such a challenge. Stay still? Only if you’re lucky.

Weekend

March 16, 2009

I was fortunate enough to be at the beach on Saturday afternoon with a good friend (more of her later perhaps!), while the sun was setting. Then yesterday afternoon I looked out the front door and had a sudden urge to put a pretty dress on Madam and take some more photos. The park across the road from us just looked rather inviting! I hope your weekend was full of things you love to do also…

March 12, 2009

There is a time for everything. I have been keeping this gear until I felt it was the right time to bring it out. Today was the day!

Old Friends

March 9, 2009

“It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

I know they are going to kill me for the title of this post. But I won’t change it. Isn’t it great that friends know just how to push your buttons? Thanks so much for coming to visit.

Nativity Scene 2009

March 5, 2009

Warning. This is definately a mummy post! Now for some explanation. Last Christmas I came across this very cute Nativity Set complete with a little wooden house… as you can see we have been getting much use out of it. Unfortunately Joseph is missing, but the Shepherd has been standing in for some time as Joseph (shh!). Recently I saw Joseph (ok the Shepherd) being taking for a spin around the loungeroom in this little blue car. Enough room in the back for either a sheep, or Baby Jesus.
At one point Joseph was going off to work (must have been a child-friendly workplace as Baby Jesus was with him) and the Angel came to say goodbye.

Afternoon Tea

March 3, 2009

A rainy afternoon. Nothing better than a glass of milk and a piece of raisin toast, just after your nap. Then it was off to swimming lessons with Daddy. Ah, the life of a 2 year old!

GoMA

March 1, 2009

A recent outing to South Bank saw us ending up at GoMA. Gallery of Modern Art, in case you were wondering what it stood for. I was really impressed, and it is just a fabulous building. Already on my list of places to see again.
